THE    MUSICAL    ALPHABET

  SCALE CONSTRUCTION           /           CYCLE / CIRCLE of 4ths & 5ths
Scale Construction and Cycle of 4ths & 5ths
REMEMBER: 1 WHOLE TONE = 2 SEMI-TONES!
TIP: When working with the SEVEN-NOTE SCALES, Use consecutive
alphabetical letters...there is a logic to this concept:
...7 different notes, 7 names, 7 numbers, 7 letters!
For example: One tone higher than "C", will be "D".
One tone higher than "C#", will be "D#" (NOT "Eb"!)", etc.
Also notice the use of ROMAN NUMERALS I...VII; this is a
common musical practice when refering to the steps of the scales.
